Trail Overview
Remediation Drive - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located in the first phase of the park, Remediation Drive should be able to be traversed by anyone with a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS. At just one-half mile in length, Remediation Drive is a unique trail to the facility. One end intersects with Coal Haul Road, and the other end intersects with Rock Pile Drive. At this intersection, there is a small play area with some whoops to run up and over, but the unique feature is that a lot of the ground here is sand-like. Named after the multiple remediation ponds near the trail hidden in the woods, these ponds continue to treat runoff from the former strip mine before entering the nearby Chest Creek. This trail travels through both the woods and open meadows and has both embedded rocks and loose rocks. One section is fairly steep for about a 1/10th of a mile with loose stones. The remainder of the trail is flatter and has fewer loose stones. This trail is open to motorcycles, OHV, ATV, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in August 2025
