Trail Overview

A fun alternate track to the Blacksnake Run route in Allegheny National Forest. Use this trail to connect to Westline Loop for a fun jaunt through some mud and puddles in a beautiful forest plateau. From the bottom, the trail starts up a steep ascent, with some sections slightly off camber. The bottom of the hill tends to be the roughest section of this trail. There are several oil wells and dead-end spur trails to oil wells along the climb. The hill can be muddy and rutted, with some small rocks as well. Turn at the oil well at the top to reconnect to Blacksnake Run or take the loop.

Difficulty

This is a single-lane trail with the only room to comfortably pass being at the intersection/gas well area at the top of the hill, or possibly the oil well spur trails. It may be rutted and muddy, with some puddles. It will not be maintained in winter, and the hill may be dangerous with snow and ice.
