Trail Overview

This is another easy gravel forest road that connects to the larger road system. There are options to connect to the intersection where FS 2041 and 2027 meet via the FS 2043-320 road or continue east on FS 2043 to connect to 2047 and 2049 which opens more possibilities to continue east and north. The lower section of the 2043 road is steeper and curvier than the 2041 and is also single-lane with turnouts in places. Like the 2041, it has some nasty drop-offs along the side of the road. The last photo is of the intersection where the 2043 meets the FS 2047 (Sheep Creek Road) and FS 2049.

Deep snow obstructed around 3,900-4,000’. It might have been passable. But we didn’t want to risk it. Road goood otherwise. At mile 1 from the bottom there is a stump that slid down the hill and blocks part of the road. We made it but it’s tight. A wide rig might not make it.
