Trail Overview
This is a dirt-based road with rock as it climbs over 800 feet in elevation, and then when it levels out, it becomes sand-based. There is a lot of loose rock and rock garden, some boulders to climb that are a foot or more, and heavy washboard on the trail, making it bumpy and slow-moving. High-clearance 4x4 is recommended for this trail. There are some sections that have ledges and others where you are slightly off-camber, but the views of the Three Sisters and Mount Washington are amazing and front and center. Camping is allowed along this entire trail; however, there are no amenities and little cell phone service. The nearest services and supplies are in the town of Sisters, approximately 40 minutes from the beginning of this trail.
