Trail Overview
Page Mountain is an easy, scenic 2.1-mile trail in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest of southwest Oregon, perfect for beginners, stock four-wheel-drive vehicles, and high-clearance SUVs seeking a quick mountain escape. Winding through dense forest near the California border, this route climbs to an elevation of 5,048 feet, just shy of the Page Mountain summit. The trail's natural unpaved surface is primarily dirt and gravel, maintaining a gentle grade that presents minimal technical challenges for most drivers. While most of the path is wide enough for comfortable passage, travelers should watch for one notably tight spot where encroaching brush can cause minor pinstriping on wider vehicles.
At the trailhead along Forest Road 48, visitors will find two vault restrooms, making it a convenient staging area for SxSs and other off-highway vehicles. The route terminates at a spacious, rocky clearing near the top of the mountain that serves as an excellent dispersed campsite with reliable cellular service. From this high point, travelers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Siskiyou range before retracing their steps down.
