Trail Overview

Follow the corridor of the Salmonberry River through a beautiful river bed on a well maintained gravel logging road. At the end of the route exists the source of this mighty river of which winds through the aptly named Salmonberry Canyon all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Known for its rugged cliff faces further west and full of history this river is one of the largest producers of wild Steelhead in the Nehalem. The route itself is a trek involving the occasional pothole with the occasional logging truck possible so pack a CB radio. It also connects to multiple other trails along the Tillamook State Forest allowing a full day trip surrounded by some of the best tree cover the Coastal Range has to offer.
