Trail Overview

Embark on an off-road journey through a conifer forest, where the towering trees guide your path. This route promises a blend of rugged terrain, panoramic vistas, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Your journey commences with a gentle ascent, leading you along the edge of a clear-cut. Here, the first glimpses of Little Baldy Peak emerge standing sentinel against the sky. As you traverse the edge of the clear-cut, the melody of Lapham Creek accompanies your path, a serene companion for approximately 0.75 miles. Leaving the tranquil embrace of the creek behind, the track begins its ascent, winding around the contours of the ridge. Upon reaching the N-4600 spur road, a pivotal moment awaits. Turn right onto this rugged path, the final stretch of your journey beckoning with anticipation. Nestled amidst the towering conifers, the elusive microwave tower awaits your discovery at the pinnacle of the ridge. Just below the lofty perch of the microwave tower, a short hike leads to the edge of the ridge. Here, indulge in peek-a-boo views of Willard and Mill A, nestled in the valley below. In early spring, nature's obstacles manifest in the form of windfallen trees strewn across the route, so navigate with caution.
