Trail Overview
Trail 575 in the McCubbins OHV Area is a long 10-mile intermediate trail. On the east end, a short segment runs from the McCubbins staging area to the campground and across a bridge, weaving tightly through trees with big rocks and winding turns. The main trail heads west from the staging area and is known as the "leg buster" for its extremely tight, twisty path filled with large loose rocks, roots, boulders, and sudden sharp curves. Despite the technical terrain, it is mostly gradual, with only a few steeper sections featuring larger boulders. The trail is generally wide enough to pick a good line or go around obstacles. On the west end, there is a long and straight powerline section with steeper climbs and descents with loose dirt, rocks, and natural uneven terrain. The route finishes with another tight, winding section through the forest before connecting to 577. Several well-marked intersections make navigation straightforward.
