Trail Overview

Trail 44 is a moderate two-track featuring sandy whoops before crossing a cattle grate and then 25 Road. East of the road, the trail becomes rockier with sections of loose pumice rock and small climbs. It passes near a lava flow and includes a mix of straightforward sections and very tight, technical curves. This route is part of the Chelsey's Challenge (a 53-mile route commemorating George Chelsey, the Fort Rock District Ranger who created East Fort Rock in 1993).
