Trail Overview

Texas Hollow Road sits in a beautiful part of Dean State Forest and Wildlife Preserve within Wayne National Forest. Turn left onto Dean Forest Road and continue to the split where the road becomes gravel, then stay straight as it leads deeper into the wildlife preserve. At the fork, avoid the left turn, which leads to a dead end, and keep slightly right to continue on Texas Hollow Road. This section is deeply rutted and rough, with washed-out, loose gravel that can be slick. A pull-off on the right provides parking for an abandoned military cemetery, and a few houses are located farther down the road. The route eventually turns to pavement and continues toward Slab Fork Road.
