Trail Overview

Scioto Trail State Park North Ridge Road is a single-lane gravel road that takes the high north ridge through the park. There are several sidings and pull-offs to let other traffic by. This road offers incredible views of the southern Ohio hills. There are several turnouts that offer a nice place to stop and enjoy the view or have lunch. Be sure to climb the fire tower and see the views it offers. Road can be traveled by any street legal vehicle. I rode in on a BMW F850 GS Adventure. The road can get muddy and slick when wet and is not maintained in the winter.

We only drove from the campground to the east end. The trail was damp enough not to have any dust. A couple spots that had a thin layer of mud. Very smooth. We were laughing about it being smoother than most of the paved roads. So it would be easy to go too fast. A great drive in the woods.
