Trail Overview

McCoy Road is accessed from Bear Track and provides users with another route for exploring the northern portion of the state game lands. The trail begins as a wider, maintained road approximately two lanes wide, providing an easy and comfortable drive for most vehicles. As users progress farther along McCoy Road, the route gradually narrows and transitions into a two-track trail, creating a noticeably tighter and more enclosed experience. Despite the change in width, the trail is generally free from major obstacles under normal conditions. Users should pay closer attention once entering the narrower portion, particularly when encountering oncoming traffic or vegetation near the edges of the trail. Weather can also affect conditions on the tighter sections following heavy rain. Overall, McCoy Road provides an enjoyable transition from the wider gravel roads into the narrower two-track trails found deeper within the game lands.
