Trail Overview

Lee Gualtney Road is another enjoyable scenic route through the North Carolina High Country and is similar in character to nearby Andy Hicks Road. The road provides users with an easy and relaxing drive through the mountainous terrain and is free from major obstacles under normal conditions. While the views along Lee Gualtney Road are not quite as dramatic as those found on Andy Hicks Road, users can still enjoy beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and Appalachian landscape throughout the route. This trail works particularly well when combined with the network of nearby roads for a longer day of exploring the area. Lee Gualtney Road is suitable for all vehicles and is a worthwhile addition while traveling through this section of the High Country.
