Trail Overview
The trail begins as an easy two-track winding through the forest, with noticeably tighter vegetation than many of the surrounding roads. It closely follows the scenic Robb Creek for much of the drive, passing ponds, wetlands, and lush forest that make this one of the most beautiful routes in the area.
About 0.7 miles in, you'll encounter the roughest section of the trail, where numerous fist-sized rocks create a very bumpy ride. A few minor washouts and rocky climbs add to the challenge as the road rolls along a ridgeline, gaining and losing elevation through dense woods. The route eventually ends in a small clearing. With its varied terrain, excellent scenery, and more rugged feel, this is one of the most enjoyable drives in the Speculator Tree Farm Conservation Easement. Signs at the entrance indicate that snowmobiles are not permitted on this road.
Difficulty
This trail is rated 2/10 due to the rocky sections, minor washouts, rolling elevation changes, and tighter vegetation. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for a more comfortable ride, though there are no major technical obstacles in dry conditions.
