Altmar ATV-SxS Route

This is a well-used route for ATV and SxS users to get from Barnes Corners/Lewis County to Altmar in Oswego County, connecting to ATV club trails there. The route is mostly gravel, seasonal use, town roads with a few short sections of paved roads and some off-road trails, and is the only ATV-legal route available. The route makes its way through remote rural farmland and NY State Forest areas. Salmon River Falls is a very popular area stop for viewing a spectacular waterfall. Into Altmar for connecting to Oswego County ATV trails and the Altmar Hotel for some great food. Fuel is also available nearby. It's a very popular/busy area when the Salmon are spawning/running from Lake Ontario.
