Wandering Wake

Wandering Wake is a trail that shows minimal signs of use and is very primitive with no signs of maintenance being performed. The surface changes frequently from dirt to sand with some smaller rocky sections scattered through the length of the trail. While there are no large obstacles along the trail, overgrowth has impeded the trail in several areas making it very narrow and very difficult to recognize or see the path of the trail. Trees, bushes, grass, and other shrubbery have become so thick in areas that they have completely covered the trail and it may take some scouting on foot to find the route. The trail is a combination of several shorter FSRs and includes FS-458P1, FS-458N5, FS-458B3, and FS-458B2. Like the other designated trails in the area, there are multiple spurs that have been closed by the USFS and drivers should do their best to stay on the main track. There is no dispersed camping along the trail and those wanting to camp in the area should refer to the Sandwash trail or Clarion Course. Cell service is moderate along the length of the trail and becomes weak along the lower elevation areas where trees are more dense.
