Trail Overview

Snail is a short out-and-back trail that has multiple dispersed camping areas. The surface is a combination of dirt and rock with some minor rutting and small rock gardens and is primarily single-vehicle wide with room to pass. The trail will be easily traversed by most vehicles with good ground clearance as there are no obstacles larger than 8 inches and rutted areas are wide enough to avoid deeper sections. While the trail is short, it is one of very few that offers a dispersed camp site overlooking the "Rim" of the Guadalupe Mountains. The camp site is at the end of the trail and large enough for several vehicles. The view is wide open to the west with almost a full view of the ridge-line and valley below making it a unique spot to camp in this area. Take note of wind and weather in the area as wind speeds can exceed 50mph. Cell service is in and out along the trail, but strong when present.

Easy trail with beautiful overlook at the end. It was a little washed out so tire placement was key.
