Jackalope

Jackalope is a 2.3-mile-long single track that starts directly off State Highway 337 with no staging or parking area. The trail just starts behind a gate. You wouldn't notice this trail is here unless looking for it. You'll need to be street-legal to connect the west end of this trail with any of the other trails in the Manzanita Mountain trail system off State Highway 337 because OHVs aren't allowed on the highway. It heads east with lots of zig-zags and starts climbing up away from the highway through lots of tight bushes and pinyon pine trees. This trail appears to be a bit less ridden than many others in the area and has lots of branches that stick out and grab you. The trail has several tricky rock ledges on narrow shelfy sections of trail with a cool view overlooking the highway. It steadily climbs 500 feet over the 2.3 miles and meets up with the Powerline Trail, which is one of the hardest trails in the system.
