Trail Overview

Garage Trail is an intermediate rock crawling trail in the Glade Run Recreation Area. It's recommended to have at least 35" tires, aired down, and front or rear lockers, and recovery gear, and to expect multiple attempts for stock vehicles. It starts about 2 miles up from the Choke Cherry Staging Area on Glade Road. The first obstacle is a moderate-difficulty slickrock slope with small ledges. It's not off-camber, and it's more ramped, so it's not overly difficult, although it is covered in sand. The second obstacle is a blunt 2-foot-tall ledge, and there's a way around it. There are several more obstacles like this throughout the route, plus additional side obstacles that are optional so you can pick your poison on how hard you want your experience to be. Some of the optional obstacles include a steep 2-foot ledge, and some narrower steep slickrock slopes where you don't want to get pinched. The trail takes you out to the rim of the mesa, into some sand, and up and down a few more intermediate obstacles. The terrain is really scenic, as the trail takes you in between giant rock formations and along the cliff edge. It is an easy dirt trail between all the obstacles. After .8 miles it ends in a wash next to Glade Road. This is one of the first trails accessed in Choke Cherry Canyon, so you'll likely encounter other vehicles, especially on weekends in the fall and spring.
