Trail Overview
Arroyo de los Diegos is a primary dirt two-track that makes a partial loop from its connecting points off Valle Grande. The dirt surface shows some significant signs of rutting and erosion, with some areas of rutting being more than 20" or more in-depth, but still easily passable for most high clearance AWD and 4WD vehicles provided they stay on the high sides if their track width is wide enough. There are sections of the arroyo bed that are only single vehicle-wide due to either brush or dirt embankments that will limit room to pass any traffic. Aside from deeper ruts and soft dirt that have the potential to become very muddy after wet weather, the only obstacles are some smaller rock sections that do not exceed 10" in size. Views in a few spots are excellent for open meadow shots, with a few small areas showing the surrounding mountains. Cell service in this area is extremely weak to none.
