Trail Overview

A paved road west of New Mexico State Highway 550 leads to this beautiful adventure in Hart Canyon. The arch is a short drive north of the main route. The small, majestic arch spans a small arroyo. There is a turnaround area near the arch. The Aztec UFO crash site is on a hill north of this route. The Aztec UFO has been classified as a hoax, although some people still believe it happened. Purportedly, a flying saucer crashed on this hill in 1948. The hoax was fabricated by two con men who schemed to sell "alien" technology recovered from the site. There are military and FBI files about the incident.
