Trail Overview

Coopers Road Connector is located in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest in Lisbon, New Jersey. The trail runs northwest/southeast through the State Forest and provides a 12-mile loop through the dense trees. The trail is mostly easy, composed of dirt and gravel roads that include water crossings. Along the route, there are also hiking trails and campsite locations. This route is roughly a loop, returning to Savoy Boulevard, 12 miles in total. It can be traveled in either direction. Be courteous to those traveling in the opposite direction or joining from other parts of the forest. For many parts of the year, this area has water crossings. Stay to the sides or utilize parallel ways around.

No puddles very dry and dusty. Had a park Ranger come flying by me. Luckily, it was near an intersection where I could veer off the road otherwise he would’ve taken me out. Drive slow and careful!

Perhaps the original rating came from some stale water crossings or deep mud wholes with no detours. Currently these roads are very well maintained and challenging parts were filled with stone. Rating is 1/10 as is currently stands. If you were unsure about going here because of relatively high rating, that’s your sign to get out there and explore this wonderful area.

Relatively easy riding today in great weather. Several larger puddles and ruts. No real issues faced.

I don’t understand what this 5 rating can possibly be based on. This was a 1. Easy as pie. Hard packed road with no features. Maybe there are mud holes when it rains. But right now a child could drive it on a tricycle.
