Trail Overview
Tule Springs Road is an easy, highly accessible desert route perfect for beginners, scenic cruisers, and offroaders looking to connect to more rugged trails in the Tule Desert region. Stretching approximately 9.7 miles near the Nevada-Utah border, this wide dirt path is suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles, high-clearance four-wheel-drive rigs, and SxSs alike, with enough room for oncoming vehicles to pass safely. Traveling from north to south, the elevation gently drops from around 3,619 feet to 2,959 feet, presenting a mild descent of about 660 net feet with minimal technical obstacles. The route serves as a central artery through the sweeping desert flats, providing a smooth dirt surface that makes it an excellent warm-up or transit link to the surrounding network of offroad trails.
While the terrain is technically straightforward with a rating of 1, the surrounding landscape offers rich visual rewards, including views of Jumbled Mountain rising to 3,809 feet right along the southern portion of the track. Further south, the trail winds past the vibrant red and white sedimentary layers of the plateau known as The Ribbons, before leading to Tule Spring, where travelers can spot an old historical shack and local cattle grazing. Summer temperatures in this arid basin regularly climb into triple digits, making self-sufficiency, recovery gear, and ample water essential when planning a trip. Whether utilized as a quick connection or a relaxed sightseeing drive, this route showcases classic Nevada desert beauty with low-stress driving conditions.
