Trail Overview

Starts at the Steam Shovel. The road is well maintained but is not well traveled. Spent an hour clearing a large tree off the road. Tried this route in March and was turned around by deep snow drifts. A section of the road around the mine is made up of medium size, jagged, rock. We lost a tire here.

The road is washed out at many creek crossings. We were able to invent ways around all that (Jeeps on 37's, etc) but eventually came to a spot where the road was sidecut into a hill and washed out pretty much completely. A motorcycle could get through, that's about it. It will take a backhoe or a large crew to get the road back.

We went 4 rigs 37s & 40s , all very experienced . There is a steep section that also corners out , water washed one of the tracks 4-6 feet and there is a steep drop … extremely sketchy definitely a no go . We turned around halfway… Definitely don’t travel alone on this trail.
