Trail Overview
Road No More is an engaging 12.4-mile trail perfect for offroaders seeking a unique route along Interstate 15 that showcases the transition of an abandoned highway back into the desert landscape. Originally part of Old US 91, this route features a mix of crumbling asphalt and unpaved dirt, making it suitable for high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles and SxSs. The trail has a mild technical rating of 3, but drivers should remain alert for eroding edges, sudden washouts, and deep cracks in the decaying pavement. The elevation ranges from 1,704 feet to 2,113 feet, with minimal climbing but a net elevation loss of over 300 feet as you travel from west to east.
The most notable technical challenge along the route is a steep descent into a concrete-bedded wash, which requires careful tire placement and adequate ground clearance to negotiate the entrance and exit hills. Erosion from desert storms has created intense drop-offs along the shoulders, meaning drivers must exercise caution and avoid the trail entirely during periods of heavy rain or flash flood warnings. Accessible year-round, the trail connects Carp Elgin Road to State Route 170 near Bunkerville and Mesquite, offering a historical glimpse into old travel routes while providing an easy to moderate adventure through the scenic Nevada desert.
Access Description
