Trail Overview

Take this rough and rocky trail to the remains of the Oro Plata Mine. The trail drops nearly 1,500 feet of elevation as you follow the canyon down to the Colorado River. Explore part of Nevada's extensive mining history when visiting the abandoned silver and gold mine. Several structures and rusting equipment are still present. The opening to the mine is closed off for safety reasons. The trail down the canyon is a challenging one. Several steep rocky drop-offs make it suitable for high-clearance vehicles only.

Good, short trail with only a small number of somewhat technical obstacles, one leading to a narrow shelf. The Jeep pictured has a 2” Mopar lift and 37s for scale. Most of the trail is probably a 3, and a couple obstacles could be rated a 6 just due to clearance.

I did trial in a stock Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. For the most part it was a nice easy trail. There are some steep grades but nothing crazy, I did hit my skid plates and scraped pretty good on both of the big rock obstacle. over all it was fun.
