If you want to experience the Nevada backcountry at its finest, County Road 34 (CR 34) north of Gerlach is an excellent choice. This easy dirt road winds through rolling hills and wide-open stretches of the high Nevada desert, offering expansive views and a true sense of solitude. Out for a day trip to Massacre Rim. Road was graded and mostly smooth. Couple of the corners are a bit washboard so watch you speed.
