Trail Overview

Tom Beal Park (FS 362) is a well maintained dirt road that is around 10 miles long. This road is an out-and-back ride. This road veers West off of the Elk Summit Road (FS 111) after crossing the Crooked Fork and Colt Killed Creek. This road is seasonally maintained, and is usually cleared of dead and down. That being said, its not a bad idea to carry a chainsaw. The Tom Beal Park trailhead may not be clear of snow until late June or even July dependent upon the snowpack. The views of the surrounding mountains are excellent while ascending this road. You drive through an old burn scar as you ascend allowing you to see the surrounding area well. You can expect a well maintained dirt road with minimal obstacles of any form outside of dead and down. Where the road ends at Tom Beal Park Trailhead you have access to multiple trails including Walton Lakes Trail. Views of Walton lake are excellent from this trailhead parking area.
