Trail Overview

This road is a beautiful climb from the Nine Mile Valley up to Edith Peak Ridge. The spring wildflowers make for spectacular views but snow often holds late into May or even into mid-June. Most of the road is well-maintained dirt with some rutting in early spring. Most of the road is a single track with steep drops while winding up the mountain and then opens up as you climb higher.

Difficulty

Long sections of single track with steep drops and deep muddy ruts in places require higher clearance.

Road is clear, but dusty.

Definitely dusty when dry and in a multiple vehicle convoy. Amazing views along the way. Only a couple of rough sections, but other than that smooth sailing throughout the trail.

Great road, gorgeous views. Road started with just a dusting of snow that progressively became deeper. It was traveled, so we had no trouble making it to about 6000’. It just got too deep and I buried the JK. The Gladiator tugged us out, we turned around. Absolutely, fantastic way to start the new year: Family, stunning trail and Jeeps.
