Trail Overview

Hallowat Creek North - NF315 is a scenic forest road located north of Columbia Falls, Montana, accessed via North Fork Road. This route leads toward Moose Lake Campground, but deep snow can linger into late spring, limiting access. The gravel surface is generally in good condition with minimal obstacles. We encountered snow before reaching the end of the trail, so seasonal conditions should be considered. The route offers peaceful forest views and light traffic, making it ideal for a quiet backroad drive when passable.

Lots of potholes but nothing unmanageable, saw a few other suvs. Went up to moose lake. When you get up to the top there are bathrooms on the left. Right before the bathrooms is an old dirt road on the right, it leads to a campsite. If your suv can handle the clearance it’s a great campsite!! My forester had no issues at all getting to the campsite
