Gold Creek Trail 126 (Seasonal Access)

At mile 7 of Gold Creek, you reach a bridge with a BLM gate. (This gate is closed during certain times of the year by the BLM for the bear population to breed.) It's open in winter and closes in Spring. It re-opens about June 15th, but the date is set each year by the BLM and changes. As you cross the bridge you turn left at a Y in the road headed North. There are many small trails to your left that take you down to the edge of Gold Creek for fishing and camping. Continuing along this trail you have the chance to cross the river for more camping/fishing access or remain on the East side of the river. The trail ends at a locked BLM gate that you can continue past via non-motorized means. On this trail, we saw Moose, Elk, Black Bear, Skunk, and Deer.
