Trail Overview

Fun trail with a great hike at the end to Doris Mountain. The trail is narrow, rocky, and slow going in some parts. 4x4 isn't necessary, but good tires are. Parking at the trailhead is limited, but there's a small meadow at the base of the trailhead with plenty of area to park.

Conditions were dry. Road has a few washboard sections, but mostly in the first half of the trail. A couple of steep spots where I was glad to have locking axles, but I think just about any 4x4 could make it. Beautiful vistas and lakes.

Not bad at all. Rocky and steep. No technical sections and not tight by any means. Any high clearance can make it. I suggest high clearance just because some sections have some rocks and washouts a sedan would not do so well on.
