Palmer Mine - FSR 2382

Palmer Mine Trail begins as a well-maintained forest service road winding through the scenic Mark Twain National Forest, gradually descending into the valley towards Hazel Creek. At 1 mile into the trail, adventurers reach a spacious open campsite area complete with a rock fire ring. Beyond this point, the trail transforms into a challenging, narrow path. Continuing past the campsite exposes vehicles to potential pinstriping due to the tight trail. If you continue past the campsite expect three-foot deep washouts, softball-sized rocks, and exposed tree roots. The trail surface alternates between gravel, dirt, and rocky terrain, which can become slippery in wet conditions.
