Trail Overview

Holmes Chapel is a beautiful scenic route inside Mark Twain National Forest. Want a consistent relaxing drive with whispering pines and wildlife scurrying around? This is your place. The gravel road traverses minimal elevation changes and sees little to no effect of rain, but as gravel will do with enough traffic, be cautious of mounded gravel in the harder turns. The hardest part of this trail is Wayne County Road 502 & 502A which leads to it, it has a course gravel foundation, appearing to be natural creek bed rock native to the area, and it is also rarely graded, so washboarding and mounding are almost guaranteed.
