Trail Overview

Bollinger County Road 872 is a gravel road that leads through the bottoms of Grounds Creek and the hills surrounding it. It has multiple creek crossing points (easily 1 foot deep) and dug out points in the road due to it's local popularity. Flash flooding also has an effect and can amplify the difficulty in hours, be cautious of this potential. The road's gravel is thicker and more course reflecting the natural creek bottom rock of the area.

Difficulty

Water crossings are guaranteed, the one at the north end of the trail that crosses Grounds Creek is every bit of 1 foot deep, but could be as deep as two foot with a heavy rain. The rest of the road features other crossings closely behind this depth, and the surface of the road is a mix of course gravel with places being heavily dirt and mud.

Good drive. Worth the trip if you’re in the area. Water crossings were not bad. 12” tops. It’s been pretty dry however.
