Trail Overview

Ketchum Road Northwest to Cass Lake on the Soo Line North follows an active railroad and US Highway 2, is 12.3 miles long, and takes about 40 minutes with an average speed of 19.3 MPH. A note to OHM riders--Cass County sections of the Soo Line North trail do not allow OHM per MN DNR information: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/map.html.

Difficulty

The surface is packed gravel and locations with sand. Expect ruts after wet areas dry. Remaining water holes seemed to have hard bottoms, but being able to tell the difference in a wet time of year could be interesting. Several areas had tight turns with slight hills, making oncoming traffic hard to spot.
