Trail Overview

Trail is a point-to-point 1-mile bidirectional trail located in the southwest section of the Chatfield ATV trail complex. The trail can be accessed from either Minnesota Hwy 30/74 or from Hillside Drive SW. Both Class 1 (50” or less) and Class 2 (50-65”) ATVs are allowed on the Chatfield ATV trails. The trail consists mostly of dirt dual track with embedded rocks. Riders can either follow along the edge of the farm fields or may take the option to cross through the dense forest strip. The forest grove resides along the side of a slope that rises roughly 50 to 60 feet above the farm field, giving riders a challenge to climb or descend a narrow rocky trail. Either end of this section of the trail can be used to access other portions of the Chatfield ATV trail complex. The trail is normally open from 1 May to 31 October and is considered easy. OHV riding in Minnesota requires either a vehicle registered with the state or the purchase of a non-resident OHV state trail pass. The Chatfield ATV trail network has a total of 19 miles and was developed by a group of neighbors with a passion for ATVs. The trail is entirely on private land and leads riders through backdrops of field, forest, pasture, and woods. Please respect the private landowners and stay on the marked trails. This trail is provided by the City of Chatfield and maintained by the Chatfield ATV Trails Club. Nearest services are located in Chatfield.
