Trail Overview
This scenic trail begins off Dunka River Road and features a relatively new gravel surface. Though not particularly wide, the trail is mostly smooth and well graded, with a few gentle ascents and descents as it winds through the surrounding tall pine forest. While there are a handful of side trails branching off from the main route, most of these have been closed off or are no longer in use. The trail eventually comes to an end at a closed gate just before a wide, newly constructed bridge. According to MVUM, the route beyond the gate is no longer open to public access. Near the end of the trail, there is a small turnaround area that could accommodate a compact vehicle and may be suitable for a night of dispersed camping, though the space is limited and undeveloped. There are no formal campsites along the route, and no services such as trash disposal, drinking water, or restroom facilities. Cell service may be intermittent or unavailable.
