Trail Overview

FS 9987 is a laid-back, bidirectional 1.7-mile off-road trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located between East 20 1/2 Road and East No. 22 Road, this trail is easily accessible. This trail consists of a mostly gravel surface with a few areas of a dirt and sand combination. This route tracks through a beautiful portion of the forest. The trail is easygoing with no obstacles to note. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! The trail finishes at a split so you can either continue on to the next trail or head out on the road to make your way back home. Regardless of the length or conditions of this trail, it's a scenic and fun route to check out. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
