Shaltz Drive

This trail through the Pine and hardwood forest in the Gladwin Forest Management Unit is part of a larger grid of trails in the area. It is a dirt two-track that is very tight in spots, so prepare for some tree branches scraping your vehicle. Some loose sand areas exist, but nothing to present too much of an obstacle to most stock vehicles. You will find a few spots for off-grid camping along the trail. It runs from Calhoun to the north, to Claroskee Road to the south. Take your time and enjoy the foliage, and you just may catch some wildlife as well.
