Trail Overview
River Camp Trail is an easy out-and-back off-road trail. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, sand, and grass. At the end of this trail, you'll find a small dispersed campsite overlooking the Manistee River, hence the name. If you plan on camping off this trail, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and please seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station prior to camping here. This track navigates alongside private property. Please be respectful of the local landowners so we can keep trails like this open for future generations! Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Also, at the end of the trail, there is a sandy washout hill beyond the dispersed campsite. The washout and beyond are not on any maps found from the DNR, so again, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY. Regardless of the conditions, this is a fantastic trail!
