Trail Overview

The North Missaukee Route (often referred to as North Missaukee or NMR) is a multi-use ORV route spanning roughly 60 miles across Missaukee and Kalkaska counties. It is an extremely popular, sandy, rolling, and heavily wooded trail system located just southeast of Bear Lake. This track is Sandy in some areas, has small rocks mixed in, and is about 1 and 1/2 vehicles wide. The lowered portion of the loop was hilly and fun to drive, while the upper portion of the loop was flatter and meandering through the woods. This route is a groomed snowmobile route (LP 76) in the winter months and is closed to wheeled vehicles.
