Trail Overview

North Maple Block Road, also known as Forest Service Route 3972, is a state-owned/ locally maintained, Level-2/ Level-3, forest access route with a surface composition of sand, dirt, and native material. It offers access to forested "Two-Tracks" and hiking paths within the deep wilderness of the Betsy River. It was once a spur of Betsy River Road.

History

North Maple Block Road is a remote, heavily wooded, and unimproved dirt road located in Whitefish Township. Historically, serving as a logging route during the 20th-century timber boom, it is now a rugged four-season trail providing access to off-grid hunting camps, snowmobiling trails, and the secluded wilderness surrounding Tahquamenon Falls.
