History
The Companions of Christ the Lamb, located in the deep woods of Paradise, Michigan, is a Roman Catholic community established to promote simple, wilderness-based living, prayer, and silent retreats. The community was founded over 25 years ago by Father Jack Fabian, a priest from the Archdiocese of Detroit. With permission and release from Cardinal Adam Maida to pursue this vision full-time, Fr. Fabian moved to the secluded woodlands of Chippewa County to build a monastic-style community. Started initially from logs, lumber, and sweat in the 1990s, the community has grown to host permanent members and provides accommodations for retreatants.
