Trail Overview

NFS 9716 is a fun and easy off-road trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Although the trail doesn't have anything technical, it runs alongside Tank Creek. To access the creek, you'll need to find a pull-off and hike over to it, but it can be seen from the trail at times. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt, and weaves through a serene section of Pine Trees. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for one vehicle, with limited places to pass. Lastly, this is a cool trail that offers some of the best tranquility Michigan has.
