Trail Overview
NFS 6462 is a seasonal bidirectional connector trail located within the Manistee National Forest. This trail connects NFS 6459 & NFS 6680. Starting from NFS 6680 heading west, you'll begin in one of the most beautiful stretches of trails in lower Michigan, with towering Red Pine Trees surrounding. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! As you zig-zag along the trail, you'll come across a couple of washouts. These typically aren't bad, but something to note. This is a trail that should be taken slowly to ensure you can take in its beauty. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it's essential to continuing the network of trails in the area, and it contains a lot of beauty. One last thing to mention is that this trail is a seasonal trail that is used for snowmobiling during the winter months. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail!
