NFS 6274

NFS 6274 is a short yet scenic seasonal bidirectional trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Nestled just north of Big Star Lake, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the north end at the intersection of NFS 6273, you'll start on a smooth sandy dirt trail in the forest. The trail transitions from a smooth sandy dirt surface to a heavy leaf-covered dirt track. A few of the twisty sections can get narrow, so please use caution. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for one vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but still contains a lot of fun and beauty, and gives access to other great trails nearby. The south end of the trail finishes at the intersection of S Hayes Road. Regardless of the length or conditions of this trail, it's a fantastic route to explore!
