Trail Overview
NFS 5485 is a seasonal bidirectional trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Starting from the south end, you'll begin on a sand and dirt combination trail that is plentiful with aspiring trees. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! As you weave along the trail, you'll come across a couple of washouts. These typically aren't bad, but something to note. This is a trail that should be taken slowly to ensure you can take in its beauty. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it still contains a lot of beauty and gives access to other great trails nearby. The north end of the trail finishes at 96th Street and NFS 5452. One last thing to mention is that this trail is a seasonal trail that is used for snowmobiling during the winter months. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail!
