Trail Overview
This trail begins as a hard-packed dirt and sand two-track with easy access from Holms Road. Early sections feature off-camber rutted areas with ruts generally less than 6" deep, making for a mild but engaging drive. During wet seasons, 4WD may be needed in softer sections.
One of the standout features of this trail is how secluded and untouched the area feels. With a wide variety of scenery ranging from open camping areas and dense tunnels of trees to leaf-covered forest sections and the natural dam crossing, the trail offers a constantly changing landscape that makes it a must-drive route.
The western spur is scenic and lightly traveled, with leaf-covered terrain and a more secluded feel. The trail eventually crosses a narrow land bridge over a natural dam before continuing into less-maintained woods. Beyond the bridge, the trail becomes more overgrown with dirt and leaf cover before eventually dead-ending at fallen trees, though there is enough room to comfortably turn around.
The eastern spur opens into a large camping and picnic area with plenty of space for bigger groups. Past the clearing, the trail narrows into a scenic tunnel of trees where muddy conditions are common after rain. The route finishes at a wet turnaround loop resembling a natural cul-de-sac, where 4WD may be required to exit during wetter conditions.
