Trail Overview

Scenic, sandy, and washouts describe this route perfectly. After rain, there is also quite a bit of mud. I would not recommend this in a two-wheel-drive vehicle. The sandy hill section is pretty easy to get stuck in a 2-wheel drive. There are also sections where you can bottom out lower vehicles. This is a public hunting area, so care should be taken during hunting season.

Trail was muddy and wet due to recent rain. The large sandy outcropping was very loose and not suitable for 2WD vehicles. One 4x4 pick up had just gotten dug out of thick mud when I arrived mid-trail. Due to the elevation changes there is heavy rutting on Parmalee Road, along numerous locations but specifically at the second curve (headed east, uphill) that is unavoidable but manageable for a high clearance 4x4. All-in-all a fun ride for my Rubicon, but would not recommend for low clearance 4x4s or 2WD!
